Store Policies: About

Welcome to Sweet Pea Cookie Co. My name is Gina Black, and I am the owner and creator of these custom sugar cookies. I have a Cottage Food Operator permit through Stanislaus County, California, Registration #A219, with a business license through the City of Oakdale.

 

I offer decorated glazed sugar cookies customized for any social event.

 

I am a one-woman operation, working from my home kitchen.  I need a minimum two weeks’ notice for each cookie order, but please feel free to ask if I have to availability to fulfill an order if your event is less than two weeks away.

**RUSH ORDERS (orders with less than a week's notice):

A $25 charge will be added to all rush orders.  Payment for rush orders will need to be paid immediately.

Submit a Custom Order Request Form (under the "Custom Order Requests" Tab) to start the ordering process.  You will be contacted via email or text message to let you know if the requested pick up date is available.  A quote will be determined for your order request and an invoice will be emailed to you, generally 15 days before the requested pick up date. 

 

If a request is received more than 3 weeks before the requested pick up date, a $50 non-refundable deposit will be required on the day that a response to your request is sent to calendar the request.  If a reply is not received regarding the deposit, the request will be deleted.  Payment of the balance will be required by the invoice date to place your order (generally 15 days before the requested pick up date). 

Payments are non-refundable and non-transferable if cancelled one week prior to the date your order is calendared. 

A quote does not "hold a date" or "confirm an order".  Orders are only held and confirmed with payment in full. 

Dates are still open to other customers until a deposit and/or payment in full is received.

Payment cannot be used towards other orders, or as a credit, if the original order is canceled.

Payments are due the day the invoice has been emailed and the invoice will cancel at the end of the day sent.

Refund Policy:

Thank you for choosing Sweet Pea Cookie Co to create custom cookies for your event.  Due to your custom order, specific to you and your request, refunds are not available.  In the event that I have to cancel an order (orders are only placed with payment in full), all money paid toward your order will be refunded.  ​

Orders for pickup only in Oakdale, California (pick up available Monday thru Friday between 8am-6pm, not available for Saturday or Sunday pick ups).

Custom decorated sugar cookies are iced with a glaze icing.

Pricing:

Standard Size Cookies (approximately 3" x 3") ~ Cookies start at $4 per cookie.  The price may go up depending on the design detail, if the cookie is to be hand-cut (as opposed to using a cookie cutter), the size of the cookie, and the amount of colors needed.  Cookies are individually wrapped and heat-sealed in food-safe polyethylene bags for freshness.  

Mini Cookies ~ Mini cookies (approximately 1 1/2" x 1 1/2") start at $24.00 per dozen ($2 per mini cookie).  As with standard sized cookies, the price may go up depending on the design detail; however, because of the limited space on the mini's, the design will need to be fairly simple.

Individually Wrapped Cookies ~ The poly bags can be tied with curling ribbon in a color of your choice for an additional charge of $0.25 per cookie for one ribbon color, and $0.15 per additional ribbon color.  There will be an additional charge for satin, sheer organza, or other type ribbon.

*If you are not sure what cookie designs you want for an order, and want me to come up with designs for your order, the cost is $5 per standard size cookie (with the order minimum). 

Order Minimum:  2 Dozen Standard Size Cookies;

                                  4 Dozen Mini Cookies;

                                  or 1 Dozen Standard Size Cookies plus 2 Dozen Mini Cookies

Up to 3 cookie designs per dozen standard size cookies or 1 cookie design per dozen mini cookies may be chosen per order.  There is a maximum of 12 cookie designs per order.

Logo & Character Cookies ~ Logo & Character cookies start at $5 each.  The price may go up depending on the the design detail, if the cookie is to be hand-cut (as opposed to using a cookie cutter), the size of the cookie, and the amount of colors needed.

Portrait Cookies ~ Portrait Cookies are $6 each.  High-resolution, 300 dpi images sent by email will produce the best results.

***No changes/additions will be made to an order one week prior to the requested pick up date.  This includes, but is not limited to, color scheme, number of cookies ordered and designs.  

***Large Orders (100+ Cookies per Order) ~ A 15% Non-Refundable Deposit will be required to reserve the order pick up date.  Payment in full will be required 4 weeks before the requested pick up date to place the order.  

Frequently Asked Questions:

Do you have a storefront?

No.  My cookies are made in my home kitchen.

 

Are my cookies nut-free, gluten-free, or allergy-free???  

All of my ingredients do NOT contain any nuts; however, they are NOT made in a nut-free environment.  My kitchen deals with wheat, egg, dairy and nuts.  Please exercise caution and judgement when ordering cookies.

 

How far in advance should I order???

As I only take a limited number of orders per week, it's important to place your order as soon as possible.  Ideally, orders should be placed 4-6 weeks in advance to secure your spot, but at least 2 weeks in advance.

Do you offer discounts on large cookie orders???

Discounts are not offered on large custom cookie orders.  More cookies = more work.

Do you offer "same-day" cookie orders???

No.  Cookies take a minimum of three days to complete.  All cookies are made per order, so there is no cookie inventory to choose from.  

How long will cookies "keep"?

Sugar cookies have a long shelf life.  They will stay fresh up to 2-3 weeks when kept in heat-sealed bags or in an air-tight container at room temperature.

Dates are available on a first-come, first-serve basis and only saved with your paid deposit.

If an email or order request is sent after business hours, a response will be sent the next business day.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS:

A non-refundable deposit of $50 is required to reserve a date on my cookie calendar if your order request is received more than 3 weeks from the requested pick up date.  Payment in full is required if your request is received less than 15 days from the requested pick up date.  Full payment is required for custom orders and must be made by the due date listed on the invoice to place your order.  The invoice will cancel after the listed due date if payment in full has not been received.

Payments are non-refundable and non-transferable if cancelled one week prior to the date your order is calendared. 

For Large Orders (100+ Cookies per order), a 15% Non-Refundable Deposit will be required to reserve the order pick up date.  Payment in full will be required 4 weeks before the requested pick up date to place the order.  The payment balance on large orders is non-refundable and non-transferable if cancelled 2 weeks prior to the date your order is calendared. 

Payment Options:

Payments can be made by Venmo, Apple Pay or PayPal.  An invoice will be emailed to the email address listed on your order request.  If you are using PayPal to make your payment, your invoice will include the PayPal payment link.  You can use a debit or credit card with the PayPal option and do not need a PayPal account to pay using PayPal.

Effective July 20, 2021, Venmo will charge a transaction fee of 1.9% + $0.10 for goods and services.  PayPal charges a transaction fee of 3.49% + $0.49.

 

Cash and Personal checks are not accepted for payment.
